The 65-hectare development is located in an alluvial site in the southern area of Hanoi near the Red River which boasts excellent connectivity with neighboring districts. The project includes a 5-star resort with entertainment and spa facilities, 200 country villas for eco-tourism, a 9-hole training golf course, a botanical and handcraft village, a bio-restaurant where it is possible to taste the local organic food, a reception building, retail spaces that sell local products, a small touristic port for the navigation of the river, schools, medical and administration facilities, along with other amenities that ensure a diverse and mixed-use community. The scale, material selection, and design of the residential buildings are all influenced by the vernacular style of Hanoi to local streets and complementing the city’s existing palette.
Design matrix of the masterplan is a water park, a “spine” that, in addition to reclaim the water from a marshy area taken by an unhealthy pound, organizes and articulates all facilities through a system of pedestrian and cycling routes. The botanical and handcraft village is the main attraction of the new development. Every year it will house an international horticultural festival (Floriade Expo). The concept features a library of trees and plants arranged into lots along a pedestrian route across the 65-hectare site. The masterplan was conceived as a framework for a sustainable city district, as well as a blueprint of an eco-tourism with cultural, commercial, and recreational spaces all weaved within green promenades and public parks, to create something that will benefit not only local communities but the whole city of Hanoi.
