The masterplan was designed on the land area of 40 ha with 141 townhouse and 78 shophouses. The programme explores the potential of forming a new cityscape in human scale, against desolating urban environment due to large scale urban developments. The shophouses provides a new urban housing and community complex with commercial facilities on the ground floor and apartments on the upper floors of fist, 2nd and 3rd floors. Owners and guests can enjoy a wide range of amenities such as a landscape lake of 5ha, center swimming pool (3000 sqm), restaurant and café chains, spa and gym.
The typical shophouse block houses 11 apartments (250 sqm) with retail space (90 sqm) and a subterranean parking level below. On the main road, this structure is flanked by zigzag-shaped, spacious balconies. The appearance of the structure varies dramatically depending on the viewer’s perspective, which gives the building a very sculptural and three-dimensional feel as well as which creates a kind of visual tilting effect as one passes the building.
